RVA’s Reiki Clinic is an open space where individuals can come for a free Reiki session from a trauma-informed Reiki practitioner.

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing modality that can promote relaxation, stress relief, and trauma healing. Practitioners lay or hover their hands over the client’s body in order to promote relaxation and healing. Many survivors of sexual violence have found Reiki to be an important component to their healing journey. Typically after a Reiki session clients report feeling “lighter” as if an emotional burden has been lifted.

You do not have to be an RVA client to attend. We welcome victims and survivors of sexual violence, and their loved ones, to come for a free 20-30 minute Reiki session. You will lie on a massage table *fully clothed* and listen to relaxing music while a practitioner hovers or places their hands on agreed-upon areas of your body. You may feel heat, tingling, or pulsation – this is simply the Reiki energy flowing into your body.

With this event, we seek to create safe space for anyone in need of support around the ways they are feeling personally impacted by sexual abuse or sexual violence.
