The Chicago Teachers Union Foundation proudly presents A Conversation with Dr. Angela Y. Davis moderated by Dr. David O. Stovall centered around our juvenile and adult criminal justice system.
Dr. Angela Y. Davis, prominent activist, educator, and author life’s work emphasize building disenfranchised communities for economic, racial, and gender justice. She is primarily concerned with society’s tendency to devote more resources and attention to the prison system than to educational institutions.
Moderating this critical and historical discussion is Dr. Stovall, a University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) professor and the author of Born Out of Struggle. Dr. Stovall studies the influence of race in urban education, community development, and housing.
Prepare for an empowering, motivating and inspiring conversation with two dynamic individuals!
