Please join F4F, Sunday April 29, 2018 from 4 – 7pm for “The Currency of Social Structure,” with The Kola Nut Collaborative!
“The Currency of Social Structure” seeks to transform selected spaces into social marketplaces where the human assets populating the space become critical to increasing social value within the space. In this session, we reflect on our social economy and broaden perspectives of where currency is created or exchanged.
Spatial prompts will engage participants in a thoughtful exchange of skills, services, and talents. This exploration of an intangible human capital asks participants to imagine a world without money and all of the opportunities we have to bring some aspects of that world into fruition wherever we are.
“The Currency of Social Structure” is part of our ongoing Time Salon series of communal engagements. The Time Salon is a facilitated gathering offered by the Kola Nut Collaborative which guides participants through dialogue and practice in communal asset mapping, social economy and non-monetary exchange. In this intentional space, we challenge the idea that participation in a framework of economic exchange necessitates the use of the dollar as currency.
*Please know that all ticketing is donation based and goes toward the continuation of F4F and the work of presented facilitators. bit.ly/F4FKola1

About The Kola Nut Collabrative:
The Kola Nut Collaborative (KNC) is a mutual support network of people engaged in reciprocal exchange of services, skills, and goods through a timebank where the currency is an hour of time for everyone. Through membership in the Kola Nut Collaborative people: create and strengthen community bonds, create economic freedom by providing an alternative means to get needs and desires met, and encourage creativity in redefining self-sufficiency, interdependence and valuation of time.
