Apr 4th 2018

The April 4 Murmur of Democracy commemorating the 50th anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will provide guests with an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy with other members of our community. Guests are encouraged to bring one of Dr. King’s speeches or letters – or a similar text from an other civil rights leader or any survivor of oppression and injustice – to read and share with others. Reading material will be available for those who do not bring their own material. During the event guests will read to – and for –each other. In doing so we can reflect on why we value democracy when it works and why we need it when it fails.
