In conjunction with the BOLT Residency exhibition “See Without Seeing, Know Without Knowing,” Chicago Artists Coalition is pleased to present four Chicago poets reading new, unpublished work.

Refreshments will be served.

POET BIOS

Aricka Foreman is a writer, editor and educator from Detroit, MI. Her poems and essays have appeared in The Offing, Buzzfeed, Vinyl, RHINO, The Blueshift Journal, Day One, shuf Poetry, James Franco Review, THRUSH, Please Excuse This Poem: 100 New Poems for the Next Generation (Viking Penguin), among others. Author of the chapbook Dream with a Glass Chamber (YesYes Books), she has received support from Cave Canem, Callaloo, and the Millay Colony for the Arts.

Feliz Lucia Molina was born and raised in San Fernando Valley, California. She is the author of Undercastle (Magic Helicopter Press), collective epistolary novel The Wes Letters (Outpost19), chapbook Crystal Marys (Scary Topiary Press), and Roulette (Make Now Books, forthcoming 2018). Her poems have appeared in PEN America, Open Space, Fence, among others. She holds a BA in Writing & Literature from Naropa University and an MFA in Literary Arts (Poetry) from Brown University. A recipient of poetry fellowships from Kundiman and the MacDowell Colony, she edits poetry for LARB, and makes chapbooks for museum of expensive things. She lives in Chicago, where she is an MA candidate in the School of Social Work Administration at the University of Chicago.

​Mary DeYoe is a writer and arts administrator from Chicago, IL. Her poems and articles have appeared in INSIGHT Magazine, The Honeyl Gabriel Halpern Chicago Artists Coalition Chicago Near Wet Side See Without Seeing Knoand Review, Newcity, Chicago Gallery News, The SEEN. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing, Poetry from Vanderbilt University where she ​was the recipient of the Academy of American Poets Prize. Currently, she is the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Special Projects at the Chicago Artists Coalition.

Marty McConnell lives in Chicago, Illinois, and received her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. Her forthcoming second poetry collection, “when they say you can’t go home again, what they mean is you were never there,” won the 2017 Michael Waters Poetry Prize, and her work has recently appeared in Best American Poetry, Vinyl, Southern Humanities Review, Gulf Coast, and Mid-American Review. Her first full-length collection, “wine for a shotgun,” was published by EM Press, and her first non-fiction book, “Gathering Voices: Creating a Community-Based Poetry Workshop,” is forthcoming in 2018 on YesYes Books.
