This edition of Office Hours: Portfolio Review is an opportunity for artists to meet with directors of independent galleries and project spaces throughout Chicago.

One-on-one portfolio reviews last 30 minutes and provide a platform to discuss a range of issues of interest to emerging and working artists, including:

* Feedback on artwork
* Preparing for exhibitions
* Pursuing professional opportunities

Please note that space is very limited & advance registration is required. Office Hours appointments are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be able to indicate your reviewer preference following the registration process. Participants are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment.

Kristin Abhalter Smith is creative director and founder of Roman Susan Art Foundation, a project incubator and platform for Midwestern artists. Since 2012 the space has worked with over 750 artists in the Chicago neighborhood of Rogers Park. Kristin has recently exhibited as an installation artist at Demo Projects, funded by a DCASE grant, with upcoming shows at Ignition Projects and STNDRD. MFA in Technical Theatre and Design from the University of Minnesota, with twenty years experience designing, building, and painting for stage and motion picture. romansusan.org

Mika Horibuchi lives and works in Chicago, IL. Horibuchi attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and earned her BFA in 2013. Recent solo and group exhibitions include Draw the Curtain, PATRON, Chicago, IL; Council, Andrew Rafacz Gallery, Chicago IL; Tangled Bliss and Beautiful Soup, Selena Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Miranda, Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles, CA; No Secret, LVL 3, Chicago, IL; Sub Rosa, Loudhailer Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Things, Soccer Club Club, Chicago, IL. Claudine Isé is the director of Goldfinch, a contemporary projects space located in East Garfield Park. She is also the director of the Riverside Arts Center’s Freeark Gallery and Sculpture Garden in Riverside Illinois. Claudine teaches in the Museum and Exhibition Studies Program in the School of Art + Art History at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and is also a Lecturer in the Painting and Drawing department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prior to moving to Chicago in 2008, she was the Associate Curator of Exhibitions at the Wexner Center for the Arts, and before that, was an Assistant Curator at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. She holds a Ph.D. in Film, Literature and Culture from the University of Southern California. goldfinchgallery.org

Vincent Uribe is a creative entrepreneur based in Chicago, IL. Vincent is the Founding Director of LVL3, an artist-run exhibition space and online publication platform he established in 2010 while attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). LVL3 is dedicated to fostering creative networks for emerging to established artists from around the world. In addition to running LVL3, Vincent is the Art Director at The Arts of Life, working to advance the creative arts community by providing artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities a collective space to expand their practice and strengthen their leadership. Motivated by his passion for art, music, fashion, design, and travel, Vincent works as a tastemaker, connecting and promoting creative entrepreneurs across the globe.
