Join us for a moderated conversation and Q&A with University of Chicago astrophysicist Richard Kron about the technology used to create images of deep space. Discussing historical artifacts on loan from Yerkes Observatory in Wisconsin, we will engage questions about representation and technological mediation as astronomy has pushed the frontiers of sensor design and computation.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition “Articulating Time and Space” which addresses the ways we personally experience and react to this process of unsettling and upending. Exhibition on view at the Sullivan Gallereis October 3-24, 2017.
