Livia Nery is a singer and songwriter based in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She has created a homelab of musical experiments, developping a cross between urban music, soul and Brazilian popular music from the Northeast. Playing with keyboard, sampler, voice and loop stations, Livia learned to play them her way, dedicating herself fully to musical creation over the past few years.
Since 2014, the singer has performed in Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, in solo shows or together with her band. In January 2017 Livia performed at Coquetel Molotov, one of the most important independent music festivals in Brazil.
She also participated in PULSO2016, Red Bull’s music residence in São Paulo. Together with fellows musicians Junix, João Meirelles and Mahal Pitta, she was selected by the curator Filipe Cartaxo to occupy the building for a month. The immersion resulted in two presentations and two tracks recorded for the compilation PULSO2016.
