For the next Wrote gathering, Sixty Inches From Center is hosting an open forum and info session with editors and writers from Chicago Artist Writers, Newcity Art, and Bad at Sports. This gathering offers an opportunity for writers and content creators to hear more about these publications and what it takes to become a writer for each.
These publications, Sixty included, are particularly interested in making their platforms fertile ground to nurture new voices along the spectrum of race, nationality, gender, ability, age, and experience in order to make way for new interpretations, more variety in critical reads, and different perspectives on the art and cultural work happening in Chicago.
During this gathering, Sixty Inches From Center will also share a range of opportunities for not only writers, but those with an interest in editing, arts administration, program production, marketing, or publishing who may be interested in joining Sixty’s team.
– Dana Bassett (Bad at Sports)
– Dan Gunn (Chicago Artist Writers)
– Tempestt Hazel (Sixty Inches From Center)
– Elliot J. Reichert (Newcity Art)

ABOUT THE WROTE SERIES
Wrote is a series of gatherings that bring together arts and culture writers, platform-builders, and media-makers to discuss ideas, issues, opportunities, and the most pressing concerns in the field of arts writing and cultural content creation. Held at various locations throughout the city, Wrote is for those who use audio, video, photography, and writing, or provide a digital/physical space to publish stories and critical thought about art + culture happening outside of mainstream purview, particularly those whose content aligns with the mission and vision of Sixty.
