Soundrotation in conjunction with Brain Trust Management and Arts & Public Life presents the third installment of The Rear View Mirror Listening Session and Lecture Series with Duane E Powell.

The Rear View Mirror Sessions is a series of lectures and listening sessions which focus on influential unsung artists and legends and how they influence music today. The program will provide insight into artists who influenced Chicago and beyond by exploring their lives through history and their music.

For this third session, we will dive into the life of the Chicago born legendary songbird Minnie Riperton. Dubbed by Stevie Wonder as “The Perfect Angel,” we’ll explore her upbringing on the southside, her road to prominence in the industry, her role in feminism and her influence over singers and musicians for generations to come.

Indie soul sensation and recording artist Kenya will be joining us to speak of Minnie’s influence as well as perform songs from her catalog.
