May 18th 2017

The Chicago Artists Coalition (CAC) is pleased to announce the annual benefit “WORK IN PROGRESS,” May, 18, 2017. The event formerly known as “Starving Artist,” shifts toward a greater focus on interactive art experiences for the more than 500 guests in attendance. In addition, the revitalized event will feature an even more robust silent auction of work by distinguished and emerging Chicago artists. Co-chaired by photographer and former CAC BOLT resident Suzette Bross and Founder & Managing Partner of Dom Capital Jay Owen, all proceeds from WORK IN PROGRESS, our largest fundraiser of the year, directly support CAC’s year-round residencies, professional development workshops, ground-breaking exhibitions and the online platform CAR (Chicago Artists Resource).

In building upon the energy and spirit that were signature to “Starving Artist,” WORK IN PROGRESS will feature surprising live performances, work by some of Chicago’s most dynamic, emerging artists and delicious food from some of Chicago’s top restaurants. The lively crowd is made up of artists, curators, foodies, entrepreneurs, designers and other enthusiastic supporters of Chicago’s thriving arts community.

WORK IN PROGRESS will take place on Thursday May 18, 7-11pm at Venue One Chicago (1034 W. Randolph St.). CAC will host a VIP reception immediately prior to the main event at their gallery (217 N. Carpenter St.) from 5:30-7pm.
