Mar 10th 2017

@ Stony Island Arts Bank

6760 S Stony Island Ave, Chicago, IL 60649

Opening Friday, March 10th, from 7PM - 9:30PM

In partnership with Black Cinema House, Human Rights Watch Chicago 2017 Film Series is pleased to present KIKI – a film by Sara Jordenö and Twiggy Pucci Garcon.

Through a strikingly intimate and visually daring lens, Kiki offers a riveting, complex insight into a safe space created and governed by LGBTQ youths of color, who demand happiness and political power. The film is an exciting coming-of-age story that celebrates agency, resilience, and the transformative art form of voguing.

After the film, we’re thrilled to present a panel including KIKI co-writer and subject Twiggy Pucci Garcon; HRW Interim Advocacy Director Tico Almeida; scholar, activist and performer Julian K. Glover; and trans activist Monica James.

Please note: this event is free, and seating is limited. Guests are encouraged to arrive early. Seating is offered on a first-come, first-seated basis. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
