About HYDRA:

The works on view in HYDRA range from cast aluminum sculptures to assemblages of diverse materials and digital photographs created on a scanner bed.
Rosen is interested in, “How femininity and animality are performed and how they meet in a domestic context.” People perform their animality by having pets or wearing fur. Fashion is a way of performing animality. It’s part of the mating ritual or a warning sign. When we bring pets into our homes are we performing animality? The artist suggests that, “Maybe we’re all—both humans and non-human animals—performing our mutual domestication.”
