Multi-instrumentalist David Boykin gives an in-gallery performance in response to the exhibition Kemang Wa Lehulere: In All My Wildest Dreams. Through a series of short solo performances featuring saxophone, percussion, and electronics, Boykin reflects on various themes and motifs found in Wa Lehulere’s work.
About the Artist:
David Boykin is a Chicago-based composer, saxophonist, and band leader. He has released 16 recordings; appeared as a featured guest on other prominent musician’s recordings, such as Nicole Mitchell, Chad Taylor, Josh Abrams, and Mike Reed; performed at major international jazz festivals and smaller jazz venues locally and globally; and founded Sonic Healing Ministries, which is an organization dedicated to the spiritual evolution of humanity through music.
