Maria Cruz: Still Life

@ Old Town Art Triangle

1763 N. North Park Ave, Chicago IL

Opening Sunday, December 4th, from 2PM - 5PM

On view through Thursday, December 15th

A contemporary portraiture exhibit, Still Life is a collection of captured moments in which the audience is invited to analyze a life at rest, interrupted by the lens of the camera. Featuring unknown subjects, both local and global in origin, the portraits are a reflection of the beauty in the solitary, unknown, and unique human experience-the kind that remain a mystery to all but the subject him/herself, decipherable to the outsider only through clues seen in facial expression and body language. Inspired by Impressionist study of everyday life and the attention to color and composition seen in art of the 60s, Still Life is the first solo exhibition of local emerging artist Maria Cruz.

FREE EVENT. Street parking available. 6 min walk from the Sedgwick Brown Line stop. Artist will be present at the Opening Reception. Light refreshments will be served.
