Jim Pollock: HIGH PHI

@ Galerie F

2381 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647

Opening Friday, September 23rd, from 6PM - 10PM

On view through Sunday, October 23rd

Recently, Galerie F hosted a tremendously successful 30 Year Retrospective event featuring Jim Pollock’s long and illustrious career. Widely known for his bold and colorful linoleum prints featuring world famous bands such as Phish, Pollock’s more recent work deals with environmental and social issues. The artist is deeply committed to the legalization of marijuana as well as hemp as a valuable commodity. “HIGH PHI,” as an exhibition, highlights this aspect of Pollock’s artistic activism.

The month-long exhibit will feature brand new, never-before-seen work highlighting Pollock’s passion for the legalization and normalization of marijuana use in the United States. The work featured stems from Pollock’s drive to elevate the buying experience of a product that is typically viewed as illegal or unethical. Through this work, the artist aims to change stereotypes surrounding artwork displayed in locations such as marijuana dispensaries by producing work that examines the botanical intricacies, vivid colors, and highly intellectual beauty in the many different varieties of this controversial plant.

“HIGH PHI” examines a different side of this quirky and influential artist. Join us in celebrating a landmark step in the evolution of Pollock’s accomplished career.
