In collaboration with DON’T FRET, Johalla Projects is bringing the pop-up gallery to a new level. For the past several months, Don’t Fret has been working in a vacant hardware store located in Chicago’s Fulton Market District. On August 16th, this exclusive exhibition will open to the public for a one-night event — marking the final days of the building before demolition begins on August 25th.

Don’t Fret’s work — usually found on unassuming street corners in many cities — will canvas the building to feature some of his most impactful work. Inside, Don’t Fret invades the space to produce a rogue exhibition showcasing series of works from over the past two years.

Chicago-based artist Heather Gabel will also introduce a new body of work specifically for the pop-up event.

Featured in the CHICAGO READER as the best street artist in Chicago, Don’t Fret keeps a low profile but a prolific presence throughout the streets. In conjunction with the event, Johalla Projects produced a short artist film — a profile sneak peak into the life of Don’t Fret. The first official screening of the film begins at 11am on August 16th for members at the new Soho House Chicago. The film will be widely released in September 2014.

Building owners and donors Shapack Partners, Focus Development, and Atlantic Realty Partners are working with Johalla Projects to facilitate this exclusive event with artist Don’t Fret.
