This spring a group of interdisciplinary scholars have been meeting at UIC to discuss their interest in documentaries. On the occasion of the UIC MFA Thesis Exhibition: A Spectre is Haunting at Gallery 400, this group is organizing an informal discussion and gallery walk open to any UIC affiliated documentary maker or scholar. The exhibition is an MFA thesis show featuring a number of art projects using an expanded and experimental approach to documentary making using film, video, photography, and archival research. In particular, we hope to connect documentary makers from within the School of Art and Art History with makers and scholars from the social sciences and humanities. Open to the public.
