The President’s Gallery at Harold Washington College presents “On Landscape: Gray and Green,” a solo exhibition of meticulously crafted sculptures and drawings by artist Mauricio Forero. The works are drawings that become sculptures and sculptures that include drawings. The artist creates his pieces from found objects and new materials, which he hand-ages to evoke the poetic and material dimensions of embodied energy. These objects convince us of their functional existence while camouflaged under a patina of rust, grit, scuffs and dust.
