Susan Messer McBride is a ceramicist, teacher and studio artist at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago and was recently Chair of Nasty Women Art Chicago. Her work is functional, made on the potter’s wheel with a porcelain clay body and soda fired. In addition to making forms McBride is interested in the intersection of nature in urban landscapes. Often the images or ideas found on her pots are inspired by moments of sudden and pure emotion.
